Drink Table Decorating

Drink Table Decorating

Creating a festive look around your home for a birthday party, holiday or any other occasion can be one way to let the environment encourage a sense of relaxation or excitement. While you won't forget to decorate a main table or room, you'll want to be sure to include the drink table. Drink table decorating doesn't have to be extravagant, but you will want to follow a few guidelines for dressing up the table so it is as decorated as the rest of the event. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Place your drink table in an area of a room that is easy to get to without taking up space for mingling. If the table will be used on one side for service, then leave enough room for someone to stand behind the table. If you are using a "serve yourself" set-up, then you have the option to push the table to a wall.

    2

Select a tablecloth in a dark color that suits the occasion you need the drink table for. Often, a darker color will hide any spills and not show staining from dark juices or drinks such as wine. Drape the tablecloth just over the surface or use a cloth large enough to touch the floor.

    3

Place a centerpiece on the table, such as a punchbowl, an ice carving or another item that is relevant to your drink area at the center of the table. Dress up the centerpiece to echo the theme of the party as possible, such as using evergreen branches and berries around the punch bowl during winter or placing sugar skulls around it for a "Day of the Dead" party.

    4

Arrange any drink necessities using the space you have remaining on the table, such as a bucket of ice cubes, drink mixers, cups and glasses, as well as juices or bottles of wine. Make sure there is enough room on the table between items to use each of these items functionally and repeatedly without knocking anything over.

    5

Add accessories around the open space left on the table to continue the festive feel, such as placing a pineapple, hula dancer figurines, confetti, birthday hats or small flags. As you place these additional accessories, be sure they don't get in the way of making and pouring drinks.

    6

Add a draping swag to the front of the drink table as suitable for your party's theme. This could include a flower garland, paper streamers, strings of lights, evergreen boughs or a series of photos connected by ribbon.
