How to Create a Form Based on More Than One Table in Access 2003

You can view or enter data into multiple tables using one form in Microsoft Access 2003. For example, if you are a potter, you could create a form that shows information from both your Galleries table and your Pottery table. Forms showing data from more than one table are called "flat." Here are some steps to create a form based on more than one table in Access 2003.

Instructions

    1

Open Microsoft Access 2003 on your computer.

    2

In the Database window, click on "Forms" under the Objects menu.

    3

Click the "New" button on the Database Window toolbar that appears.

    4

In the New Form dialog box, click the wizard you want to use. A description of the wizard appears in the left side of the dialog box.

    5

Click the name of the table or other record source that includes the data you want to base your form on. (You don't need to do this step if you selected Form Wizard or PivotTable Wizard in Step 4-you can specify the record source for the form later.) Click "OK."

    6

Follow the instructions in the wizard.

    7

Name your form. Make the title of your form relevant and easy to recognize.

    8

Click "Finish." Your form is now ready to be used.
