Decorating a Candy Party Table

A candy party theme gives you plenty of leeway for creative table decorating. Besides their sweet flavor, candy is eye-appealing because of the array of colors and shapes available. Whether jazzing up a small round or a large rectangular table, candy displayed in varying heights will make a lasting impression on partygoers. Create an interactive table display that is nice to look at and snack on. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Assemble the Tiers

    Cut a 16-inch wide circle from foam. Lay a circular paper template on top of the foam and draw around it with a pencil. Cut out the foam with a sharp knife.

    Cut a 12-inch wide circle from foam. Lay a circular paper template on top of the foam and draw around it with a pencil. Cut out the foam with a sharp knife.

    Cover the top of the 16-inch foam piece with colored tissue paper. Glue the tissue paper in place.

    Cover the top and bottom of the 12-inch foam piece with colored tissue paper. Glue the tissue paper to the foam with glue.

    Cover a table with a pastel-colored flat sheet. Use a flat cotton sheet as a tablecloth. Select a size that covers the table completely. Fold the ends of the sheet edges under.

    Place the 16-inch foam circle in the center of the table. Place the largest canister on top of the circle.

    Place the 12-inch foam circle on top of the canister. Place the medium-size canister on top of the 12-inch circle. Position a clear glass saucer on top of the canister.

    Pour candy around the base of the tiers. Use a single color on each layer for a nice look. Fill the top saucer with another single color of candy.

Vase Decorating

    Wrap colored craft paper around four to six different sized glass vases. Tape the paper in place. Cover the glass vases completely with the paper.

    Place the wrapped vases around the table.

    Set small glass trays on top of the vases. Fill the trays with candy.

Candy Favors

    Add candy to tulle circles then tie up the circles with 1/16 inch wide ribbon. Tie the ribbons in bows.

    Set the favors on a decorative tray.

    Scatter wrapped candies around the table to cover it.
