Simmons Crib Installation

As an expecting parent, there are so many things to look forward to. One of the items on the to-do list that many couples enjoy doing is preparing the baby's room. There are many cute items: bedding, wallpaper, dresser and changing-table sets and, of course, the crib. A Simmons crib is both decorative and practical. The front is lower than the back, making it easy for parents to get their new baby in and out. The swooping design in the back panel makes it easy to match the crib to the rest of the nursery furniture. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Hold the solid back piece up on the flat edge. Use the provided hex wrench to remove the two bolts on the side of the piece, holding the shipping bracket in place. Remove the bracket on the other side as well. Throw away the bolts and the brackets.

    2

Push a small wooden peg into the top hole in the bottom of the solid piece on both the right and left sides. Place the right head-end leg against the right-hand side of the back piece. Lift the back piece up so that the holes on the end of it line up with the holes in the head-end leg and the installed wooden peg fits into a hole in the leg. Secure the two pieces together with the supplied 90 mm bolts. Repeat on the left-hand side.

    3

Look on the bottom inside corner of one of the side boards. If there is a "R," the piece goes on the crib's right side. If there is a "L," the piece goes on the crib's left side. Position one of the side pieces on the proper side; the piece should slope down from back to front. Lift the piece up so the holes in the back post line up with the holes in the back leg. Secure the side in place with the supplied 60 mm bolt. Repeat on the opposite side.

    4

Lower the mattress support into the center of the Simmons crib with the four corner bracket arms pointing up. Position the holes in the bracket arms' ends over one of the four holes in the crib's corners. The higher the hole you use, the higher the mattress sits. Each corner of the mattress needs to line up with the same height hole. Secure the mattress support in place with the supplied 16 mm bolts.

    5

Lay the foot end assembly, the front piece, flat on the floor. Screw on the two feet in the holes drilled in the assembly's bottom bar. Lift the assembly up to the front of the crib, with the feet resting on the floor. Line up the holes in the back of the assembly with the holes on the side pieces. Secure the assembly in place with the supplied 40 mm bolts.
