Interior Design Ideas Using Lime Green

Interior Design Ideas Using Lime Green

Whether you want to make a bold statement or you just want to add a touch of brightness to a neutral-hued room, using lime green in your decor will liven up your home. Make a splash in one room by painting lime-green walls, or sprinkle the color all over the house in accent pieces and fabrics. Does this Spark an idea?

Walls

If you love lime green enough to live with large amounts of it, paint your walls in this bright shade. Pair lime-green walls with white woodwork and painted white furniture for a crisp look. Add accessories in accent colors such as navy blue, hot pink or yellow.

Furniture

If you want a smaller helping of lime green, choose furniture fabrics featuring it in florals, plaids or stripes. Add solid lime-green throw pillows. Place a few lime-green accent pieces in the room, such as a small vase or a grouping of pictures framed in the color.

Draperies

Solid lime-green drapes, when viewed against neutral walls, can have a dramatic effect in your room. Heighten that impact by painting your walls chocolate brown or navy blue. Use lime-green curtains, pale pink walls and white woodwork in a child's room for a sweet, fresh look.

Accents

Using lime green as an accent color will add a bright surprise without overwhelming your room. In the kitchen, add lime-green trim to curtains by sewing strips of bias tape to the hems or adding some tiny ball fringe to the edges of a valance. Fill a basket with limes and lemons. Enliven your dining-room table with lime-green place mats or a table runner. Add a white glass vase filled with silk flowers in hot pink and lime green. Cover a bedside table with a white floor-length cloth and a lime-green topper. Drape lengths of sheer lime-green fabric over decorative drapery poles. To add some color to a bathroom, sew lime-green ribbon to the hems of white hand towels.
