How to Accessorize a Buffet Table

How to Accessorize a Buffet Table

Whether you're having a casual dinner party with loved ones or planning a wedding reception, it's essential for the buffet table to be one of the most attractive features at the party. A visually appealing table where the food is served can make all the event fare appear more appetizing and helps solidify the party's theme. Include the main party decor colors, along with fabrics that denote the celebration's level of formality to make for an impressive buffet table that your guests will compliment throughout the celebration.

Instructions

    1

Place a table runner in the center of the buffet table in a color or pattern that fits the celebration. A gingham runner is appropriate for a country-style picnic buffet, while a runner featuring a rose or vine design is fitting for a bridal shower tea party. You could also place a series of cloth napkins in the middle of the table, overlapping one another to create a runner.

    2

Place vases on the corners of the table in hues that coordinate with the party decor or adorn the buffet table with clear glass vases.

    3

Fill the vases with items that match the party's theme. Spray paint synthetic bamboo shoots in black or red for an Asian-themed party where red and black are the main decor hues. Fill the vases with real or synthetic pink or yellow daisies for a buffet-style celebration with a springtime theme. If you prefer non-floral decor, fill the vases with small glass stones in colors that match the rest of the table.

    4

Place small frames filled with candid photos on the buffet table where space permits. Display the snapshot of a couple feeding each other wedding cake for an anniversary buffet table or a photo of the expectant mother enjoying a treat she's been craving during pregnancy, if the buffet table is for a baby shower.

    5

Sprinkle table confetti on the table to complete the decor.
