How to Replace Pool Table Gold Crown Rails

How to Replace Pool Table Gold Crown Rails

A Gold Crown is a type of pool table manufactured by Brunswick. The side and end rails on this type of pool table absorb and deflect the force of the pool ball when it makes contact. Over time, the felt on your Gold Crown pool table will show wear as it becomes old and needs to be replaced. When replacing the felt, you should also redo the railings.

Instructions

    1

Locate the bolts that are used to secure the side rails on the underside of the pool table. Remove the nut that is attached to each bolt with the socket wrench.

    2

Lift the railings off of the pool table. Replace the old felt on the each railing using your new pool table felt. Remove the metal bar and pull out the staples securing the felt using the pliers.

    3

Remove and discard the old felt from the railings.

    4

Lay the railing on the new piece of felt. Wrap the felt around the railing and slide the metal bar back in place. Pull the felt taught and tack it in place with the staple gun.

    5

Pull and staple the felt every 2 inches along the railing. Fold the end of the felt under the railing and staple it in place.

    6

Place the railing back on the pool table. Tighten the nuts onto each of the bolts by hand. Secure each of the nuts fully, using the socket wrench.
