The Instructions for Brunswick Pool Tables

The Instructions for Brunswick Pool Tables

Caring for your Brunswick pool table is no different from caring for most standard pool tables. Before you begin you will want to identify whether or not your pool table is a slate table because the necessary care may be slightly different. Additionally, you may want to determine exactly what model of Brunswick table you have so you can determine whether there are any special considerations required for your table.

Instructions

Keep your pool table free of debris at all times. Although most tables come with a table brush, vacuuming the table is actually preferable because it will do a better job of removing most debris. Also, if your table has a cover be sure to use it after you are finished playing because this will limit the buildup of dust.

    2

Clean your table's wooden surfaces with a damp cloth. Occasionally you will also want to polish these surfaces with furniture polish to protect them from deterioration. Spray furniture polish only on the wooden surfaces and wipe with a clean cloth. Polishing a couple of times a year should be sufficient depending on how often you use your pool table.

    3

Condition your table's leather pockets, if applicable. Use a soft cloth and a leather conditioner and gently wipe the pockets. Leather becomes dry and brittle after exposure to sunlight and moisture. Use leather conditioner occasionally on any leather surface of your pool table to help combat these effects. Additionally, you should avoid leaving the balls in leather pockets for an extended period of time because this may cause the pockets to stretch and break.

    4

Create house rules that will protect your table from damage. Jump shots are fun, but they can damage the table's cloth lining. Additionally, you should discourage players from leaning heavily on the table because this can cause damage to the table slate.

    5

Place your table in an area that is not exposed to too much sunlight, moisture, pets and other potential hazards. Prolonged exposure to sunlight and moisture will ruin your table's finish and play value.

    6

Ensure that your slate table, if you have one, is completely level in order to get the maximum playing value out of your table. Use a machinist level to ensure that your table is aligned properly. If necessary, contact a service technician to level your table.
