How to Recover a Brunswick Pool Table

Recovering your Brunswick pool table can help it last for many years. Over time, the felt can become ripped, stained or worn out. Tears or worn spots in the felt will affect the play of the balls on the table. You can also recover your Brunswick pool table with a different color or with felt that has a logo in the middle. Follow this easy guide to learn how to recover a Brunswick pool table with new felt.

Instructions

    1

Purchase replacement felt that is a foot longer on each side than your Brunswick pool table. This extra felt will be needed to recover the rails.

    2

Remove the molding from the pool table by unscrewing the screws on the underside of the table. Loosen the bolts holding the rails on and set the rails aside. The rails will be recovered with felt in a later step.

    3

Use a staple remover to take out all of the staples along the perimeter of the felt. Remove the old piece of felt from the slate.

    4

Open up the felt you will be using to recover your Brunswick pool table. Lay it out on the table, making sure to center any logos or patterns in the felt. Trim the excess from the edges and set it aside to be used on the rails.

    5

Staple the new felt to the table, starting at the middle of one end and working out toward the edges. Pull the felt tight as you go so there are no wrinkles or creases. Staple the opposite end of the table in the same manner, then staple the sides.

    6

Make three cuts in the felt at each pocket. This allows you to wrap the felt into the pocket without making it wrinkle. Fold the felt over the edge of the pocket and trim off some of the excess before stapling it down.

    7

Remove the felt from the rails. You may want to leave one rail with the old felt to use as an example of how to install the new felt. Recover each rail with the new felt you trimmed off the edges in Step 4. Fold the felt over the rail in the same manner as your example rail.

    8

Place the rails back on the table, making sure they are facing the right direction. Tighten the bolts on the underside of the table to hold the rails in place. Re-install the table's molding and tighten the screws.
