How you decorate an office, whether in your home or other place of business, says a lot to clients, customers and employees alike. Though you want the appearance of your decorations to remain professional, adding a few unexpected or pleasant surprises may invite visitors to stay longer. Choose elements based on the size of surface space, leaving room for a bottle of water or cup of coffee while they wait.
Instructions
- 1
Add life to your interior design with a vase and flowers or a potted plant. Have the vase or pot customized with your business logo, and choose blossoms in complementary colors.
2Lay down a few magazines or literature that pertain to your business or closely related topics. For example, if you run a wedding planning business, include a photo album of the ceremonies and receptions of a few previous clients, as well as a couple of bridal magazines.
3Place a decorative pencil cup, with your company logo, and small notepad next to the magazines. Have something handy for customers to take notes on if they find inspiration in what they are reading.
4Buy a decorative office table lamp. Not only does this make reading and writing easier, using lamps instead of standard fluorescent lights is in keeping with the art of feng shui.
5Add whimsy during the holidays and times of special promotions by decorating an office table with crafts made from office supplies. Examples include using sticky notepad paper to make garlands, or cutting out holiday trees from green filing folders.
